Please join us in wishing GOOD LUCK to our Zoom athletes who have advanced to this week's FHSAA State Finals!
Our opening meet of the 2018 season is now in the books and we want to say GREAT JOB to the parents and athletes who showed up and showed out this weekend! Despite some of the parking and gate issues, all in all, the meet was a huge success!
Despite competing against some teams who have 2-3 meets already under the belt, our athletes more than held their own. We had a chance to compete against some of Florida's best and came away with lessons learned, new Personal Records, and hopefully a renewed focus for the remainder of the season!
Photos from this weekend's meet have already been posted (Facebook and website). Please feel free to tag yourselves in them and share with family and friends. This week please have your athletes at practice on time and ready to roll as we have lots of work to do before the Savannah Silver Cheetahs Invitational on 4/21.
Congratulations to all who participated but a special shout out to this week's medal winners! We hope to see this list triple by the next meet!
Congratulations goes out to Zoom's own Kevin Sawyer, who was named to the 2017 All-Big Bend football 1st Team this week. Kevin amassed 1,220 yards and 13 TD and caught 35 passes for 476 yards while helping to lead Florida High deep into the playoffs his senior year.
Congratulations are also in order for Zoom's own Chris Beard, who in his 1st year on varsity, earned the starting nod and 2017 All Big-Bend 2nd Team Honors!
Chris had a stellar season, leading his Lincoln Trojans to the 2nd round of the playoffs, while piling up great numbers at QB:
2,310 pass yards, 23 TD, 7 INT; 156 car., 481 rush yards, 5 TD
Another huge CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Zoom's own Marko Skarica, for earning 2nd team All Big-Bend Honors for his outstanding sophomore campaign with Lincoln this past season!
Marko had an outstanding season, serving as a primary weapon for Chris and Lincoln's offense:
26 rec., 435 yards, 7 TD
GREAT JOB Gentlemen!

Zoom athletes were truly tested this weekend, facing the best that Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina had to offer in track and field!
Despite the challenges, #ZoomNation was able to rise to the top, advancing 10 athletes to the Hershey USATF Junior Olympic Games later this month! See the gallery below for a list of those advancing and their stories....
In 6 short years, Tallahassee Zoom has produced 35 National All-Americans and 5 National Champions!
We are seeking your support to continue building on that legacy. Our athletes have worked diligently all season and are primed for a great showing at the USATF Jr Olympic Games in Lawrence, Kansas, which takes place July 24-30. We have several athletes ranked in the top 10 nationally and we need your help as they take this final step towards accomplishing their goals.
No donation is too small or large. All donations will go to help defray travel, lodging, and food costs for each family making the 16-hr trek from Tallahassee to Lawrence, Kansas.
We ask that donations be made by Saturday, July 22. Use the link below:

Another weekend and another set of Zoom superlatives to announce!
Congratulations Eva Holmes, Dominic Larry, Maddison Green and Curtis Williams for representing Zoom to the utmost today at the FLYRA State Middle School Championship.
Eva Holmes placed- 7th in Shotout and 5th in discus, earning medals in both of her events! Eva, a 3-sport star for NFC (basketball, softball and track) competed in only 2 other meets the entire season because she was playing softball!! Congrats Eva, Coach Philpott, and family!
Dominic Larry has shown tremendous growth in the sprints this year and this meet was no different. Dom ran a blazing time of 11.24 in the 100 for 7th place and placed 5th in the 200 as well. Congrats Dominic and family!
Maddison aided her Fairview teammates in both a 10th place finish in the 4x800 relay and an impressive 8th place finish in the 4x400 relay. Not too bad for a 6th GRADER huh?! Great job Maddison!
Curtis Williams did not let two early fouls deter him from his goal of winning a medal at this Championship. Curtis unleashed a long jump of 20'6 to take the 1st place award! Way to go Curtis- your Zoom Family salutes your effort!
