2022 DARRELL I. MCQUEEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Invitation to Participants
The Tallahassee ZOOM Track Club invites graduating high school seniors to apply for the 2023 Darrell McQueen Scholarship Fund. The deadline for submission for all applicants is June 3, 2022 by 5pm.
About the Scholarship
The Darrell McQueen Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to high school seniors who have shown exemplary excellence in academics, community service, and athletics during their high school career. Father, husband, friend, and advisor, Mr. McQueen was an instrumental member of the club during its formative years. Darrell was a great advocate for education and athletics alike, who had a passion for recognizing and rewarding hardworking, motivated students in our community.
The award will be in the amount of $ 500 and will be announced no later than Saturday, June 11, 2022.

How to Apply
The application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation and video essay (2 minutes or less). All completed applications MUST be received by 5pm, Friday, June 3, 2022- NO EXCEPTIONS.
Applications submitted without the accompanying recommendation/video essay will not be considered.

- Attends high school in Leon, Jefferson, or Wakulla County
- Has earned a 3.0 or higher GPA (weighted)
- Participated in Track & Field during their high school tenure. ZOOM Membership not required.
- By the scholarship deadline, has been accepted to pursue a course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a two-year or four-year degree
- Have actively been involved in a community service initiative or project, earning at least 30 community service hours (Verification needed from guidance counselor)
